Which Trading & Shipping entities are changing their names?
During the General Meeting on 28 May, the shareholders of Total SE, the holding company of our Group, decided to change the company’s name: Total became TotalEnergies.
Since 2016 Total has been making a significant move towards new energies, with a view to meeting the ever-growing demand for available, affordable and clean energy. In May 2021, Total made specific and quantified commitments for 2030 that are necessary to achieve a carbon neutrality objective by 2050. Total’s name change to TotalEnergies embodies this shift, which also translates into a new visual identity for all of TotalEnergies’s activities, anchoring its transformation into a multi-energy company.
As a result, a number of entities with whom your Company trades will be changing their names to integrate “TotalEnergies”:

All companies are and remain 100% within the TotalEnergies company. Their capitals and the composition of their Boards of Directors remain unchanged. These name changes do not affect in any way their legal personalities or their rights and obligations.

When are the change of names effective?
The entities in Switzerland changed their names on 16th July 2021.
The entity in Singapore changed its name 15th July 2021.
The entities in France changed their names on 31st May 2021
The entities in Canada changed their names on 15th June 2021.
Why are the Companies changing name?
The change of name reflects the change of identity of Total which became TotalEnergies on 28th May 2021. A new name, a new logo, that anchors at the heart of our identity our Company’s strategy towards transformation, and our ambition: to be a world-class player of the energy transition.
How does this change of name impact you?
This change of name does not have any consequence on the contracts that you may have entered into with our entity: only its name changes. The legal personality of our entity does not change. Its contractual rights and obligations are not affected, neither are yours. Apart from our name our banking details are not changing. Only the name of the bank account changes to refer to the new name. You are invited to pay our invoices on our usual bank account and you will receive payments from us from our usual bank account.
Should our contract be amended or should a new version with the new name of our entity be executed?
No it is not necessary.
Will I need to issue a new invoice with the new name if I have already sent invoice using the old name?
No it is not necessary although please change invoicing to include our new name for any new invoices you send to us.
Are the entities’ bank account changing?
No they are not. Only the name of the bank account changes to refer to the new name. The bank account details themselves remain unchanged.
